TNT's
Piper
ATChC-Bronze DDCh Piper MSCDC NA NAJ
ONYX
CCGC RPT ADD BDFPiper introduced me to a world of doggie
activities that I never knew existed. She's a wonderful girl who's
taught me (and humbled me!) so much. She's always willing to give 110% at
anything she's asked to do. I'm not ashamed to admit that
I think most days she's smarter than me.

Piper & I took our first agility class
at All Dogs Sports Club in May of 2000 and we were hooked. We soon
entered the world of weekend trials. Piper is a very fun dog to run.
She's loud, fast and always on the verge of losing control. When
she runs clean, she's a hard act to follow. When she doesn't run
clean, there's a lot of bars to be replaced!
Piper earned her Agility Trial Champion of
Canada in June 2003. |

Piper easily learned the game of flyball.
We started competing with the Afterburners Flyball Club and quickly became flyball
addicts. Piper, as in agility, always vocalized her enthusiasm for the
sport. She was known for her vertical bouncing while waiting to race.
Unfortunately Piper had to be retired from flyball two short years after she
began due to a reoccurring shoulder injury.
Piper has been re-trained on the box and
currently plays flyball for fun with
Burnin' Rubber when extra paws are needed.

Piper has always been my tireless
lead dog. It hasn't always been easy--she can be very stubborn--but she's
a powerhouse in her harness. There
are only a handful of dogs who will tolerate running next to Piper.
She's loud and tends to harass her sledding buddies by barking in their
ears when starting off. Oh well, the Sibe people are always entertained! |
|
Another of Piper's favorite past times is Frisbee. She will gladly drop
everything for her frisbee. She rarely misses a catch and has even managed
a couple of single disc scores over 80 points!
We've tried our hand a freestyle and have even come away with our first
freestyle title, but Piper isn't quite convinced that it's fun! |

Piper competed at Dock Diving for the
first time in 2006 and earned herself 3 Senior and one Junior Dock Diving
leg. She narrowly missed the Dock Dog finals in Binbrook with a best jump
of 17' 7". At the Ottawa Home Show in March of 2007, she qualified
for the Pro Finals! In September 2007, at a one day competition, she
earned her final Senior legs, had a best jump of 18' 1" and finished 5th in the
finals.
